It might be the same thing when it comes to usb connections too. I just noticed when my battery level was below 50% my computer would not recognize my nook usb connection. The hardware is all intel based stuff that runs Ubuntu, Mac, or Windows. USB Device not recognized...resolved!
USB Device not recognized...resolved! I did read / skim all 33 pages of Q & A looking for anything that might point me in the right direction but if I saw it I didn't know I had no special drivers for my mac or PC Marcus Love Coffee! From there backup was made successfully.

I guess the wires that charge the device were OK but the data wires were bad.
